Ingredients
  

  • 1 package instant ramen noodles (discard seasoning packet)
  • 1 tbsp sesame oil
  • 1 clove garlic, minced
  • 1 inch ginger, grated
  • 1 cup chicken broth (or vegetable broth)
  • 1 tbsp soy sauce
  • 1 tbsp mirin (or rice vinegar)
  • 1/2 tsp chili flakes (or to taste)
  • 1 egg
  • optional toppings: sliced scallions, shredded nori seaweed, sesame seeds, bean sprouts, corn, soft-boiled egg

Method
 

  1. Heat sesame oil in a small saucepan over medium heat. Add garlic and ginger, cooking 30 seconds until fragrant.
  2. Pour in broth, soy sauce, mirin (or rice vinegar), and chili flakes. Bring to a simmer.
  3. Add ramen noodles and cook according to package directions, about 2–3 minutes.
  4. Crack the egg into a bowl, then slide into the simmering broth. Cook until set to your liking.
  5. Transfer noodles and broth to a bowl. Add desired toppings like scallions, nori, sesame seeds, sprouts, or corn.
  6. Serve hot and enjoy your homemade TikTok ramen!

Notes

Use vegetable broth to make it vegetarian. For extra protein, add tofu, shrimp, or chicken. Adjust spice with more chili flakes or a drizzle of chili oil. Try finishing with a splash of lime juice for brightness.
