Ingredients

  • 1 pound ground beef
  • 1/4 cup breadcrumbs
  • 1/4 cup grated Parmesan cheese
  • 1 egg
  • 2 tsp garlic powder
  • 1 tsp salt
  • 1/2 tsp black pepper
  • 1 tbsp olive oil
  • 1 jar (24 oz) marinara sauce
  • 3 cups water
  • 8 oz spaghetti
  • fresh basil, for garnish

Equipment

  • Instant Pot
  • Mixing bowl
  • Spatula or wooden spoon
  • Measuring cups and spoons

Method

  1. In a bowl, mix ground beef, breadcrumbs, Parmesan, egg, garlic powder, salt, and pepper. Form into meatballs.
  2. Set the Instant Pot to sauté mode. Heat olive oil and brown meatballs on all sides. Remove meatballs.
  3. Pour marinara sauce and water into the pot. Break spaghetti in half and add, ensuring it is submerged.
  4. Place meatballs on top of the spaghetti. Seal the Instant Pot and cook on high pressure for 8 minutes.
  5. Quick release pressure, stir gently, and serve with fresh basil garnish.

Notes

For a lighter version, swap ground beef with ground turkey or chicken. Add crushed red pepper flakes for a spicy kick. To avoid sticking, layer spaghetti crisscross when adding to the pot.
